Fitness to walk

If you're not sure, just ask. You'll need a certain level of fitness to be able to join one of our walks but you certainly won't need to be super-fit. Our bespoke walks can be tailored to the level of fitness of your group (e.g. staying low and avoiding the tougher walks to higher summits or high falls)  or you could try out one of our shorter planned walks.

What to wear

I learned the phrase "be prepared" a long time ago and it's still worth remembering today;
  • You'll need appropriate clothing for the walk - good strong walking shoes, layers of clothing (to add/remove when it gets colder/warmer), hat and gloves if the weather suggests etc.
  • You'll need personal extras for the day in a personal rucksack - suncream, lunch, water, snacks, maybe some walking poles.
  • You'll need personal extras "just in case" - e.g. waterproof jacket and trousers, a spare warm layer, blister plasters.
You'll receive a suggested list of what to bring when you book to remind you, and this will depend on the time of year and the walk itself, and you can be sure that I'll also have a few extras with me just in case.
